Larger car hire companies often provide a 24-hour service at major airports and certain rail terminals where staff work shifts and part-time work is often available.
Receptionists deal with customers and handle enquiries by telephone, fax and email.
If working for a larger hire firm, they may work at a central call centre booking office.
Car hire receptionists, known as rental or reservation agents, work for car and van hire companies, dealing with enquiries and bookings from businesses and the public.
Checking vehicle availability and taking booking details from customers.
Car hire receptionists normally work between 8am and 6pm, Monday - Friday, with some weekend duties.
