Measurement Control Engineer Current Vacancies

Measurement and control engineers design and commission new control equipment
and systems, as well as improving existing ones, to regulate and monitor semi-
and fully-automated production processes across a range of industries.
These include manufacturing, transport, light and heavy engineering,
petrochemical, biochemical, and power generation.
Control instruments, such as programmable logic controls (PLCs) and distributed
control systems (DCSs), are used to find out exactly what is happening in a
specific area of operation or production, and to carry out any necessary changes
and adjustments instantly.
carrying out feasibility studies for new developments or innovations drawing up
technical plans and specifications for systems using computer-assisted
engineering and design software - analysing data to develop more cost-efficient
production processes - estimating material, construction, and labour costs, and
project timescales
coordinating the work of associated technicians and craftspeople - overseeing
inspection and maintenance programmes.
Fully qualified professional engineers usually hold incorporated or chartered
status.
Measurement and control engineers usually work normal office hours.
Opportunities exist throughout the process, manufacturing and engineering
sectors.
In addition, there are opportunities to work for manufacturers who produce
measurement and control instruments.
On average, experienced engineers earn between 30,500 and 33,000.
Senior process and control engineers can earn between 35,000 and 43,000.
