UK Trade & Investment has information on British companies active in Estonia,
Estonian companies trading with the UK, and agencies in the UK recruiting into
Central and Eastern Europe.
Most jobseekers in Estonia find employment through networking and speculative
applications to or through personal contacts.
National holidays include: Voidupuha Victory Day - 23 June; Jaanipaer St Johns
Day - 24 June;
There is no specific graduate job market but there are student-run employment
services and recruitment activities at some universities, eg the fairs run by
AIESEC, Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et
Commerciales and BEST Bureau of European Students of Technology.

Eesti Ekspress a weekly paper, very popular, lots of recruitment advertising;
The first careers service at an Estonian university opened at the University of
Tartu in 1999 and was soon followed by similar services at Concordia
International University, Estonian Business School, Tallinn Pedagogical
University, Tallinn Technical University and Narva College of University of
Tartu.
They offer an increasingly wide range of services to students and employers, and
co-operate with careers professionals in other countries.
Public employment services
All employment offices in Estonia offer vacancy information and vocational
guidance, but the main target groups are school leavers and the long-term
unemployed.
Graduates tend to use their universities and the growing number of
private-sector careers consultants and recruitment agencies.
With unemployment relatively high, there is little temporary work available for
visitors.
based in Estonia tend to work for companies that have set up operations there.
Various volunteer placements, for example teaching or working in a summer camp,
are occasionally advertised on websites such as Escape Artist.com, an employment
overseas index which advertises international jobs and volunteer placements.
Very occasionally jobs for English speakers are advertised locally in the Baltic
Times.
Generally though, work experience is as yet an undeveloped area in Estonia.
There are opportunities on international workcamps available through
International Voluntary Service IVS in Britain and potential exchanges through
AIESEC.
There are already significant numbers of international students at Estonian
universities and it is possible to follow taught courses and undertake research
in English.
Institutions accepting international students include: Estonian Business School,
Estonian Academy of Arts, Estonian Academy of Music, Estonian Agricultural
University, Tallinn Pedagogical University, Tallinn Technical University - all
of which offer some tuition in English and usually provide Estonian language
classes for those wishing to follow longer courses.
